An informal and educational chat from award-winning advertising photographer Jon Cole. Whether a keen amateur or simply a smartphone snapper, Jon will give you a few indispensable tips for taking better shots. He’ll also tell a story or two of his experiences of what can happen along the way when you make your passion your career.

This week there will also be the opportunity to 'Meet the Maker' Karin Akesson, homeware and stationery designer.

Born and raised in Portsmouth, I was fascinated by my Dad’s cameras for as long as I can remember. A degree in Graphic Design was followed by eight years spent as an Art Director in the ad industry. Creating everything from doordrops to telly ads, all the skills and experience gained during time have proved invaluable since making the switch to professional photography back in 2004. Working for a wide range of brands, agencies and clients, I bring a well-rounded creative perspective and natural style to the demands of any shoot.
